Library Media Center
Anderson Media Center is a very busy place! Students visit our center to read a book, complete an Accelerated Reading quiz, research a topic, type a document, create a PowerPoint slideshow, edit a video, or just look for the latest new books in fiction and non-fiction. I am Mrs. Watson, the Library Media Specialist at Anderson. I have a BS in Education and a MA in Library Information; I have taught in the Berkley School District for 15 years.
Hours and Service
Hours 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM (we are also open during student lunch on a limited basis). Students come to the Media center individually, in groups, or with their classroom teacher. We also offer a morning study program in the Media Center from 7:30 – 8:00 AM. Students must work on homework, take an Accelerated Reading quiz or read a book.
Anderson students are great readers! Many classroom teachers assign fiction and non-fiction titles in specific genres and on specific topics. To see these lists visit our Anderson Library Catalog (see link below) and click on Resource Lists on the left menu and then click the public tab to see custom lists and book covers.
Volunteers
Volunteers are appreciated in the Media Center! If you have any time to shelve books, straighten shelves, or man the circulation desk, please email me at mwatson@berkleyschools.org or call me at 248-837-8212.
Volunteers are always needed to work the Scholastic Book Fair! There will be 2 book fairs this year, one in the fall and one in the spring, during conference weeks. Book fair will be open all day during school hours and during evening conferences.
