BHS/AMS/NIS Ski Club Information
Dear Berkley Schools Ski & Snowboard Club Parents & Participants:
Welcome to some and welcome back to others for the start of our 2013-14 ski club season! My name is Jim Cowdrey and I am the Assistant Principal at Anderson Middle School and I run the ski club for the district. Since the club covers three schools we are the Berkley Schools Ski & Snowboard Club. As always, we cannot wait to hit the slopes and have optimistically scheduled our first outing for Friday, December 6TH, 2013. This date is totally dependent on the weather, of course, but we always try to get out as early as possible to provide as many trips as possible for the club.
New this year we will be collecting the ski money directly on the bus as the students board. There will be no early turn in. Students can pay with cash or a check. This year checks for the lift ticket and rentals should be made out to PINE KNOB.
Lift tickets must be purchased weekly, even if a student is getting a lesson and plans to be only on the beginner hill. So, for example, if your child is renting a snowboard and taking a lesson, you would need to send money for the rental and the lift ticket with your student. Send lesson money separately with your child. Lessons are purchased directly from the ski school desk at Mt. Holly. If you have any questions or concerns about the various payment options please feel free to contact me. Students will need to eat during the course of the evening, so I suggest either a sack lunch or money to purchase food (usually $10 is sufficient). It is a long night of skiing and boarding so please make sure your child has enough food and/or money to get through the evening.
**Anderson students ONLY will board a bus in the Anderson parking lot by 3:40p.m. and return to the same parking lot between 10:00-10:20 p.m.
**BHS students ONLY will board a bus in the BHS parking lot by the West Gym by 3:20p.m. and return to the same parking lot between 10:00-10:20 p.m.
**Norup students ONLY will board a bus in the Norup parking lot by 3:40p.m. and return to the same parking lot between 10:00-10:20 p.m.
Mt. Holly would like to remind students to bring their student ski/snowboard card during the Christmas Holiday Break any day, any time, to receive $5.00 off an All Area Lift Ticket. The student program does NOT operate during this time, student tickets are not sold and student lessons are not given during the Holiday Break. To receive the $5.00 discount the club card must be shown at the ticket window at the time of purchase.
