Traffic Safety Reminders

Dear Anderson Community,

As the weather changes and we enter into the winter season please be mindful of the following traffic safety reminders:

1. Students may be dropped off/picked-up in our parking lot located by Hurley Field. Please stop, drop and roll as waiting in line for the bell backs up traffic.

2. Students may be dropped off / picked up at the Berkley Recreational Center parking lot. However, please do not drop off along the tennis courts (Robina Street) as it backs up traffic onto Catalpa.

3. DO NOT drop off or pick up on Catalpa as it is a safety hazard and is against the law. Violators may be subject to a ticket from public safety.

4. DO NOT drop off or pick up in the bus/handicap zone located on Catalpa. This area is a specialized drop off for busses and vehicles identified with a bus lane allowed sign. Violators may be ticketed by public safety.

5. Remember to encourage your child to cross Catalpa at the crossing guard. Although it may be a slightly longer walk it will ensure that our students are not hit by moving vehicles.

As a walking district our buildings are not designed for large levels of traffic, however, together we can create safe drop off and pick up times for all Anderson Middle School students. I appreciate your cooperation with this effort and welcome any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Vince Gigliotti AMS Principal
