Director, Jeff Montgomery
Jeff Montgomery began his educational career as a School Psychologist in Muskegon County. After serving as a School Psychologist he served as a Special Education Administrator for Muskegon Public Schools and the Eastern Service Unit of Muskegon County. He has served the Director of Student Services in the Berkley School District since 2006 after additional assignments with Lamphere and Southfield School Districts.
Mr. Montgomery is proud of the comprehensive services available for students with disabilities within the district from birth through high school. Specific areas of strength include a strong collaborative relationship between general and special educators that supports students with disabilities accessing and making progress in general curriculum, peer mentor programs that allow students with disabilities to have strong relations with their general education peers and the use of evidence based best practices in supporting students with Autism and related disorders and in determining Learning Disabilities.
Mr. Montgomery holds graduate degrees from Western Michigan University and completed course work for Special Education Director Approval through Grand Valley State University.
