Teaching & Learning
Welcome to the Teaching & Learning Department
The Teaching & Learning Department is here to inspire, empower and lead staff and in turn support and empower our students.
What you can expect from our team:
- Curriculum resources and professional learning sessions
- Curriculum cycles to review current systems and materials
- Coaching for teachers for math, literacy, middle school and high school
- Grant management to secure funds that support staff and students
- Planning and organizing professional learning days
The model for Curriculum Development and Instructional Improvement provides for the systematic study of the content and structure of the knowledge offered to students at appropriate levels TK-12. The cycle includes program review (study), development (design of the best program), implementation (using the new program in the classroom) and evaluation. Integrated within this cycle, and of equal importance, is the program for staff development and student assessment. Technology is considered to be a part of all the curricula.
District Course Guide
The annual Pupil Accounting Manual allows districts to count students for state aid purposes who are enrolled in courses which have been approved by their local School Board. The list of approved courses must include traditional offerings and courses offered through its Shared Time program.
