AMS Students Showcase Literary Knowledge During Annual Battle of the Books

To close out the first half of the year Anderson Middle School 8th graders tested their book knowledge in the annual Battle of the Books competition. Using a tournament style bracket, students competed in teams and were asked detailed questions about books they have read so far this year. As part of their answers, students had to identify the title of the book and the author.
After multiple earlier rounds, Team "I Asked ChatGPT for a Group Name" (Hayden McClure, Garrett Blackburn, Nadia Pontes, and Adele Barry) squared off against Team "Little Peeps" (Caitlin Bluhm, Kyla Piatt, Addy Gatewood, and Daisy Bowman) for the final round in the media center. After a tough final round, Team "I Asked ChatGPT for a Group Name" pulled out the victory! The winning team members each received candy and a cash prize while the runner-up team members each received candy.
