Board of Education Honors Artists and Athletes

At the May 11 Regular Meeting, the Board of Education honored student artists who excelled in local art competitions as well as the Berkley, Royal Oak, Ferndale Unified Figure Skating Team for their success at the State Competition.

Artists

PTSA Reflections Competition

The Board honored six students for having their artwork achieve awards at the state-level of the PTSA Reflections contest. Congratulations to the following students.

 

Anderson Middle School

• Peyton Peasley, 7th grade, Dance Choreography, Alone Together - Award of Merit
• Travis Peasley, 8th grade, Photography, Pumpkins - Award of Merit

Figure Skating

The Board honored the BROU Level B Team and Level C Team for both finishing in third place at the State Championships. 

 

Berkley High School skaters on the B team include: Sophie Solomon (freshman at the International Academy who competes for Berkley) and Wren Korson (sophomore).

 

Berkley High School skaters on the C team include: Rosa Moody (senior), Molly Remeika (senior), Theresa Solomon (senior), Jovie Stilger (freshman), Clarice Thielbar (junior), Cailin Weber (sophomore), and Ella Werber (freshman).

 

Five stakers were also recognized for their individual accomplishments at the State Competition.
