On Monday, February 23, 2026, the Pattengill Multi-Purpose/Cafeteria opened for use! Pattengill students were very excited to visit and eat breakfast and lunch in their new space. Throughout the morning Principal Shamika Womble hosted a sneak peek for students. Each grade level had a chance to visit, see where the hot lunch lines will be and plan for their first lunch. Students practiced walking through the lunch line, found their new lunch tables and learned where the new restrooms and lunch cart locations were.
Pattengill’s 2025-26 construction also included a gym refresh with new floors, paint, pads and sound baffling. In addition, the large field on the playground will be leveled and grass seed will be added as soon as it's warm enough to grow
