Pattengill Press

Welcome, Meghan Ashkanani, New Pattengill Principal

Dear Pattengill Community,

We are pleased to announce Meghan Ashkanani as the new Principal of Pattengill Elementary. Mrs. Ashkanani officially joins the Berkley family on July 1. She comes to Berkley from the Novi Community Schools with an outstanding reputation as a great teacher and leader.

Mrs. Ashkanani was selected from a pool of over 80 applicants after interviews with Pattengill staff, parents, and district administrators. After careful consideration of each candidate’s credentials and the needs of the Pattengill community, Mrs. Ashkanani was chosen to serve as Pattengill’s Principal.

Mrs. Ashkanani has been an elementary teacher in the Novi Community Schools for 17 years. In addition to her classroom teaching duties, Meghan has been a teacher leader and trainer in many areas including 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Cultures of Thinking. Additionally, Meghan has been a facilitator with the prestigious Galileo Teacher Leadership Consortium. Meghan has been very thoughtful and proactive in seeking experiences and leadership opportunities to prepare herself for a principal’s responsibilities. She also comes with glowing recommendations from her colleagues and parents.

Meghan received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University. She earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Reading as well as an Education Specialist degree in Leadership from Oakland University.

Mrs. Ashkanani looks forward to building on the great work and culture already in progress at Pattengill. We’re excited to have her join the Pattengill and Berkley teams.

Please join me in welcoming Meghan Ashkanani to the Berkley Schools family.

Sincerely,

Dennis McDavid
Superintendent
Berkley School District
