Berkley School District values continuous learning and growth. We offer development professional learning ranging from a district-wide orientation, and individualized feedback, development, and coaching, to job-embedded workshops throughout the year.

Our New Teacher Induction Academy is a year-long program to make the transition to Berkley School District a snap. The program begins with an orientation in August with six follow-up meetings during the school year. Past meeting topics include: Effective Parental Involvement and Communication, Preparing for a Formal Evaluation, Differentiating Instruction for All Learners, and Teachers Professionally Developing Teachers.

All new professional staff members are assigned a mentor for their first two years of employment with the district. Mentors and new teachers collaborate in a series of structured activities to assist new staff in becoming reflective professionals and address their specific needs as a beginning teacher.

Employees who reside outside of the district’s boundaries may be eligible to enroll their children in the Berkley School District.
