Norup Hosts a Thanksgiving Parade

Norup elementary students participated in a Thanksgiving Parade on November 23, 2022. Norup’s English Learner Instructional Specialist, Kristi Metz and 3rd grade teacher Lindsay Morse coordinated the parade. Elementary students read the book "Balloons Over Broadway," which tells the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon floats and how they were created. Then, students worked to create their own mini balloon float, showcasing some of their favorite characters. There were also special appearances from the Norup Hawk, the 7th & 8th Grade band, and journalism students from The Daily Dose podcast, who provided commentary on the parade. Ms. Metz shared, “We were thrilled to have a celebration with the entire Norup school community, and the elementary students especially enjoyed the band and the Hawk!”
