In accordance with the November 15, 2020 MHSAA directive, all sports (fall, winter and spring) have been suspended until at least December 8, 2020 or until the orders are amended.  This suspension includes winter tryouts, practices and games.

Due to this directive, the Athletic department is going to postpone the collection of Athletic Resource Fees until the winter season resumes.

Read the MHSAA Physicals and Waivers  tab carefully for changes and detailed instructions.

ONLINE REGISTRATION (Except Ice Hockey and Competitive Ski Team)

Once your child has officially made the team, parents/guardians will have five (5) days from the first official day of practice to complete the online registration form found here.

ATHLETIC RESOURCE FEE (Except Ice Hockey and Competitive Ski Team)

Once your child has officially made the team, the Athletic Resource Fee will be added to your child's MISTAR Student Body Account within 48 hours.  You will then have five (5) days to make your payment by one of the following methods:

  • Pay online through the MISTAR parent portal, SBA
    A non-refundable convenience fee will be applied.

  • Hand a check or money order to the coach (payable to Berkley School District)
    NOTE YOUR CHILD'S NAME AND SPORT ON THE CHECK OR MONEY ORDER TO ENSURE YOUR PAYMENT IS PROCESSED CORRECTLY.

NOTE:  All outstanding Athletic fees and team expenses from previous years must also be paid in full prior to participation.

Fall
Boys/Girls Cross Country, Football, Girls Golf, Sideline Cheer, Boys Soccer, Girls Swimming/Diving, Boys Tennis, Volleyball

Winter
Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Competitive Cheerleading, Ice Hockey, Boys/Girls Competitive Skiing, Boys Swimming/Diving, Wrestling

Spring
Baseball, Boys Golf, Girls Soccer, Softball, Girls Tennis, Boys/Girls Track & Field

  • No more than one failing grade during the previous semester
  • ​​Have and maintain a GPA of 1.50 or higher from the previous semester

Sports physicals that were submitted last year (2019-20) and were dated on or after April 15, 2019 are on file with the Athletic department and are valid for the entire 2020-21 school year.

Only ONE of the following MHSAA forms listed below (including Medical Treatment Consent and Emergency Information) must be completed and turned in on the first day of tryouts/practice.  An Athletic Department staff member will be present at tryouts/practice to collect them.

NEW BERKLEY ATHLETES
If you are a new student to Berkley or will be participating in MHSAA sports for the first time, you must complete both pages (top to bottom) of the MHSAA Pre-Participation Physical and Medical History form and bring it to the first day of tryouts/practice.  (This form will be valid for the entire 2020-21 school year.)

NOTE: If the student participates for more than one season, the Medical Treatment Consent and Emergency Information, at the bottom of the form, must be completed and submitted every season.

RETURNING BERKLEY ATHLETES
If you are a returning athlete and submitted a MHSAA physical during the 2019-20 school year to Berkley High School, Anderson Middle School or Norup International School, you only need to complete both pages (top to bottom) of the 2020-21 MHSAA Sports Health Questionnaire and bring it to the first day of tryouts/practice.  (This form will be valid for the entire 2020-21 school year.)

Volunteering, Volunteer Driving & Chaperone Responsibilities

Parents are encourage to volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and be a volunteer driver. In order to volunteer, all parents volunteering in the classroom or during school sponsored functions or field trip must complete the Volunteer Release Form prior to any activities.  Parents driving or chaperoning a field trip must have the Volunteer Driver Form and Chaperone Responsibility Form completed in addition to the Volunteer Release Form.
