History of Angell School

Angell elementary was founded in 1921 and is celebrating its 100th year anniversary in 2021. Angell Elementary is proud to be the oldest elementary in Oakland County and has served the Berkley Schools community for a century.

Angell Elementary is named after James B. Angell, an American educator and diplomat. He is best known for being the longest-serving president of the University of Michigan, from 1871 to 1909. Read more about Mr. Angell in the links below.
