Principal's Update: August 27, 2021

Rogers Principal Newsletter

Dear Rogers Community,

Our staff has been working diligently to prepare for the beginning of school, and we are all eager to see your children this coming Monday. Here are some things to know as you enjoy the final weekend of summer break:

Important Information
If you have not already done so, please review the documents in our Beginning of the Year Important Information Google folder. Doing so will help to ensure that you and your child(ren) are informed and prepared for school.

Lunch
Our lunch procedures have been modified, and students will eat outside daily, weather permitting. Unless your child's teacher asks you to do otherwise, it would be helpful for students to bring a towel to sit on. We have some picnic tables, but many students will need to sit on the ground to maintain social distance.

Our lunch menu for August and September is now available on our website.

New Staff
In my last communication, I should have reintroduced Rikki Kwas who will be teaching second grade at Rogers this year.  Mrs. Kwas was our virtual kindergarten teacher last year and, prior to that, was our district's Early Literacy Instructional Coach. Rikki has been in the Berkley School District for the past sixteen years and has also taught first grade, a 3rd/4th/5th multiage classroom and second grade. She has a passion for reading and writing instruction; and we are so fortunate that she will be teaching at Rogers in person this year!

Fifth Grade Instrument Fitting Night
Families with a fifth grader, please save the date! Our Instrument Fitting Night will be at Norup International School, from 4:00 until 7:30 PM, on Thursday, September 30th.

Thank you in advance for your continued support! In spite of the continuing pandemic, this is going to be a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Beth Meacham
Principal
