Dear Rogers Families,
It is with great honor and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly selected Principal of Rogers Elementary School! I have been in education for nearly 16 years, most recently Principal at Brown Elementary in Byron Center, MI. I first chose to serve in the education field because of the amazing teachers and principal I had as an elementary school student at Avery Elementary, in Oak Park. Their impact on me will forever be remembered and push me to be the best I can be everyday. I am overjoyed to bring my knowledge as an educational leader to Rogers Elementary and work with you to ensure your child’s success socially, emotionally, and academically as well.
In becoming the new principal of Rogers Elementary School I believe it is important for you to know a little bit about me! I am the devoted husband to my wife and best friend Heather, who is a teacher. We share our love at home with our wonderful son, Jackson, 5th grade, Avery, 3rd grade, and Evelyn who is in kindergarten. My hobbies include attending my children’s many athletic events, fishing, and anything that has to do with Disney World! I look forward to learning more about the students and families at Rogers Elementary in the coming months and years.
Along with the excitement that comes with a new position, this is a big homecoming for my wife and I. We are both graduates of Berkley High School and look forward to all the great opportunities that were given to us as Berkley students. I understand the importance of strong values and educating our students to be leaders of tomorrow. It will be an honor to work with families who entrust their children to our amazing schools each day. My door is always open and I look forward to growing the great bond between school and community for years to come.
Honored to be the newest Rogers Raccoon!
Mr. Jack Gitler
Rogers Elementary Principal
