AMS Students Visit Detroit Institute of Arts

Students in Deanna McDermott and Briana Black’s classes went on a field trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts on October 6, 2022. This field trip is in connection to the daily living skills curriculum. While visiting, students practiced vocabulary, speaking with unfamiliar people, ordering food at the cafe and how to behave in a museum setting.

Ms. McDermott shared more about why the staff planned this field trip. “There is research between enriched life experiences and improved reading and listening comprehension,” she said. Students and staff had a great time!
