Burton Students Show "Character Matters"

Burton Students Show "Character Matters"

Tracy Grabowski’s fourth grade class at Burton elementary performed Character Matters by Bad Wolf Press for parents and classmates on Thursday, January 27, 2022.

In the musical, the audience is invited to observe the weekly meeting of the Fairy Tale Advice Council led by Rapunzel, a prince, and a witch. Throughout the show, the council offers advice in character-building to famous folk creatures like the Big Bad Wolf, Goldilocks, Cinderella and more. Character Matters explores themes of patience, kindness, forgiveness and honesty.

In preparation for the play, Ms. Grabowski’s students chose their parts, made their costumes, choreographed dances and rehearsed lines. They used skills they use in the classroom to help them prepare including reading, memorization, public speaking, and listening. Ms. Grabowski hopes to share her love of performing with her students and shared, “I remember my line from my own fourth grade play to this day! I hope my kids gain confidence, enjoy themselves, learn about character, and possibly catch the performing bug.”
