Board Selects Candidates to Interview for Superintendent Position

Good morning, Berkley Schools Community,

Last night, the Board of Education met in Closed Session to review the applications for Superintendent and select candidates to move on to interviews. After reviewing 24 applications from candidates from six states, the Board chose three (3) candidates to interview next week.

The following candidates will interview at the time listed before their name:

  • Monday, April 12, 7 pm: Todd Bidlack, Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, Bloomfield Hills Schools
  • Monday, April 12, 8:40 pm: Scott Francis, Director of Teaching, Learning and Technology, Berkley Schools
  • Tuesday, April 13, 7 pm: Beth Gonzalez, Assistant Superintendent, Detroit Public Schools Community District

All interviews will take place in person at Berkley High School in the Auditorium and the public is invited to attend. The audience is limited to 300 persons. If you would rather watch the interviews via live stream, we do have that option as well. Berkley School District is partnering with CMNtv to broadcast the Superintendent Search meetings.

Everyone who attends in person as well as those who watch via live stream will have an opportunity to give the Board feedback on the candidates via a Google Form. We will have the Google Form link available during the meeting (it will display on screen while you are watching) and via QR code to those who attend in person.

The timeline to complete the hiring process is available on our webpage.

As a reminder, if you have any questions about this process, please submit them to Lori Suarez, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and the Board. She will make sure your questions are directed to the appropriate person. All media inquiries should be directed to Jessica Stilger, Director of Communications.

We look forward to moving into the interview phase of this search, and as always, appreciate all feedback we receive.

Sincerely,

Keith A. Logsdon
