Superintendent Search Update: Board Announces Stakeholder Meeting Opportunities

Dear Berkley Schools Community,

Today, I have an update on how to participate in the next steps in the Superintendent Search. As we have shared in the past, the finalist candidates will have an opportunity to meet with various stakeholders before their final interviews. The following schedule outlines how the community will have a chance to meet the candidates and the safety protocols that will be in place. All stakeholder meetings will be held in the Berkley High School Auditorium, 2325 Catalpa, Berkley, and will follow the same schedule for both days.

Stakeholder Meetings

Those who meet with the candidates are encouraged to bring questions and to engage in a discussion. There will be an opportunity to give feedback on the candidates to the Board of Education via a digital form after meeting with the candidates.

  • Wednesday, April 28: Scott Francis
  • Thursday, April 29: Beth Gonzalez
  • Schedule of Events
    • 1:00-1:45 pm: High School Students (chosen by building administrators)
    • 2:00-3:00 pm: District Administrators
    • 3:30-4:15 pm: Staff Members (all staff members are welcome)
    • 4:30-5:30 pm: Parents/Community Members (open to the general public)

Safety Protocols

  • All members of the public will be required to follow all District safety protocols, including wearing a face mask at all times. All guests will also be asked to complete a health screening upon entering the high school.
  • While the staff and community meetings are open to all, the high school auditorium does have a capacity limit of 300 people.
  • We ask all guests to sit socially distanced from each other.
  • All guests will be asked to sign in, to help with contact tracing if necessary.

Finalist Interviews

The candidates will have their final interview on the same day as their stakeholder meetings.

  • Wednesday, April 28, 7:00 pm: Scott Francis
  • Thursday, April 29, 7:00 pm: Beth Gonzalez

All interviews will take place in person at Berkley High School in the Auditorium and the public is invited to attend. The audience is limited to 300 persons. If you would rather watch the interviews via live stream, we do have that option as well. Berkley School District is partnering with CMNtv to broadcast the Superintendent Search meetings. There will be an opportunity for those who watch the interviews to give feedback on the candidates to the Board of Education via a digital form.
