Berkley Schools Fun Runs: Week 1

On Friday, October 6, Burton, Norup and Rogers held their Fun Runs. Each elementary school hosts their Fun Runs as the largest fundraiser for the PTAs.
Rogers Fun(d) Run
Rogers Fun(d) Run was held on Friday, October 6. Students warmed up with exercises led by physical education teacher, Terri Lubanski. Students then ran around the block, were greeted by Roger the Raccoon, Paddy O’Dinger from the Royal Oak Leprechauns and all students received a medal.
Students raise funds leading up to the Fun(d) Run, to earn prizes for the top fundraisers and top classrooms. This year, Rogers students raised enough funds to earn some fun prizes! Students earned a hat day, extra recess, they turned Principal Gitler’s hair blue and silly stringed him.
Burton Fun Run
Burton students participated in the annual PTA sponsored Fun Run on Friday, October 6. They warmed up with music from Star Trax and ran with their classmates around the track.
Students raise funds leading up to the Fun Run, with the goal of earning prizes for the top fundraisers and top classrooms. The Fun Run is the largest fundraiser that the PTA holds all year. Students were thrilled to run through bubbles as they passed through the rainbow inflatable at the starting line during their morning.
Norup Fun Run
On Friday, October 6, Norup students enjoyed their annual Fun Run - with a twist. Students all received white Fun Run t-shirts from the Norup PTA and while students completed their laps, PTA volunteers squirted color corn-starch into the air. Students ended up with tie dye shirts when the dust settled. For students who did not want to run through the corn starch, a bubble lap was set up. The whole school came out in shifts and fun was had by all. The Fun Run is an annual and biggest fundraiser for the Norup PTA.
