Norup 3rd Graders Participate in “Operation Day”

Norup third graders participated in an “Operation Day” to practice reading and math skills they have been learning. For reading, students dissected “organs” to find nonfiction text features and match them with nonfiction “body parts.” The students loved getting their hands dirty and feeling like an actual doctor.

For math, students pulled numbers out of a “heart” to create equations and applied the order of operations to solve the equations. Students used their answers to help them diagnose their patients.
